While ferry passengers embark and disembark at port Bandar Bintan Belani, yachts can proceeds to BBT-Bintan Resorts. Previously, yachts planning to sail to Bintan, the Riau Islands had to call at Nongsa Point, Batam for clearance of necessary permits.
Effective 2012, under the Regulation of President No.79/2011 all local and international yachts are allowed to sail directly to Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT) – Bintan Resorts and have their immigration and custom processing done at BBT.
The island has beaches with beach-front hotels and resorts. Arriving at Bandar Bentan Telani, visitors will be immediately greeted by resorts that are commonly misunderstood as a part of Singapore due to its higher standards in infrastructures, utilities, and security. Currently there are seven independently owned and operated beach resorts, four designer golf courses, as well as a range of recreational facilities and attractions located within.
